Active Voice से Passive Voice में बदलना (active voice and passive voice rules)
- सर्वप्रथम दिए गऐ वाक्य में, Subject, Verb व Object को underline कर लें।
- Subject का Object बनाए व Object का Subject बनाए. इसके लिए ,यदि आवश्यक हो तो रूप परिवर्तन करें, Subject की जगह Object व Object की जगह Subject को रख देते हैं।यह रूप परिवर्तन निम्न प्रकार होता है।
I-me, We-us, She-her, He-him, They-them, It-it और You-you. - यदि वाक्य में दो Object at हो तो आमतौर से Indirect Object को ही Subject के रूप में प्रयोग में लाते हैं। वैसे Direct Object को भी Subject बनाकर Passive voice बनाया जा सकता है। जैसे
The teacher taught them Sanskrit.
They were taught Sanskrit by the teacher.
Sanskrit was taught them by the teacher. - Active Voice से Passive Voice बनाते समय Verb की IIIrd form प्रयोग में ली जाती है व इसके पहले Tense के अनुसार be की form लगाते हैं।
- Be की form निम्न हैं :
(i) Present Indefinite Tense में is/am/are
(ii) Present Continuous Tense में is/am/are + being
(iii) Present Perfect Tense में has/have + been
(iv) Past Indefinite Tense में was/were
(v) Past Continuous Tense में was/were + being
(vi) Past Perfect Tense में had + been
(vii) Future Indefinite Tense में will be/shall be/may be/can be/would be/should be/ might be/could be/must be या let be.

- Continuous Tense में उपर्युक्त दी गई be की form के आगे being + Verb की IIIrd form लगाते हैं।
- केवल सकर्मक क्रिया (transitive verb) का passive बनता है; जैसे-eat, see, read, write, drink,teach आदि
- अकर्मक क्रिया (Intransitive Verb) का Passive नही बनता है; जैसे-stand, sit, weep, go, come, sleep, laugh आदि
- तीनों Perfect Continuous व Future Continuous Tense का Passive नहीं बनता अर्थात् has been, have been, had been, will have been, shall have been, may have been it will be या shall be + Verb + -ing वाले वाक्यों का Passive नहीं बनता।
- Active Voice से Passive Voice में बदलते समय Qualifying Words उस शब्द के साथ बने रहते हैं,जिसे वह Qualify करते हैं।
- यदि कर्ता (subject) महत्वपूर्ण न हो या ज्ञात न हो तो उसे Passive Voice में लिख नहीं करते e.g
English is spoken all over the world (by people).
My pocket has been picked (by someone).
